This is a very exciting development in bladeless laser vision correction. This laser surgery correction is so exciting because it is extremely precise for optimal results. If you are tired of having to reach for eyeglasses the first thing you do when you get up in the morning, you will want to learn about this new LASIK procedure. Our eye doctor in Friendswood will be able to discuss this procedure with you, and let you know if you are a good candidate for this treatment.
The iLASIK procedure takes only about 4 to 5 minutes per eye. However, you will need to be at our center for several hours so that you will be able to receive complete pre-op and post-op care. In order to be a good candidate for this procedure, you will need to have had stable vision for at least one year. We are able to treat patients who have myopia up to -12.00, hyperopia up to +4 and astigmatism as high as 6.00. If you are pregnant, nursing, or have certain medical conditions or uncontrolled eye diseases you will not be a good candidate for this procedure. Before the procedure, patients will get anesthetic drops which will numb their eyes. During the procedure you may feel a slight pressure sensation as a corneal flap is being created, but it is very rare that a patient experiences any type of pain. It is recommended that both eyes are operated on at the same time so you will not experience any type of vision imbalance.
